The 4th Annual Boyington Oak Festival

May 4th & 5th, 2024

Until the start of events

The Boyington Oak History

Journeyman printer, poet, and musician, Charles Boyington, a nineteen-year-old young man, was hanged for the murder of his critically ill best friend. From the gallows he predicted a great oak would grow from his grave as proof of his innocence. It still stands almost 200 years later here in beautiful Mobile, Alabama.

The Boyington Oak Festival

The 4th Annual Boyington Oak Festival will be held May 4th & 5th, 2024 at the Oakleigh House Museum. Come by and meet Mary S. Palmer, author of Boyington Oak: A Grave Injustice and book editor Shannon S. Brown. Treat yourself to drinks, boarding house crackers, and pick up some of the amazing jam from So Jam Delicious. Enjoy a guided tour with Gulf Coast Historic Trolley Tours as they retrace the last walk of Charles R.S. Boyington. Come and experience our growing celebration of the tale surrounding one of Mobile's treasures.
